Well I wanted to choose something contemporary, so here is a fairly new group with an album they released this year. I suppose it could be classed, loosely, as a concept album. It's very chilled out, and I'm thinking that literally every track on the album has one common theme - sex. But you may think differently. It is a very mellow, laid back record, so this isn't going to put your hyper-expensive systems through its paces. But, I think it makes very good, late night listening. I liked this album, the lead singer has a haunting type of voice that works for me, plus the music is well put together if a little slow at times, 7/10.

Quite interesting and atmospheric, as described. Still listening.
Vaguely reminds me of Engineers.

LOL I thought it was a female singer until you both just said it wasn't. Very interesting!

Very nice. I do think they are in the 'shoegaze' category and I like the atmospheric feel. It certainly sounds like a female vocalist. 7/10 on my scoring system and I'll be listening to this one in the car.
If you like this and don't know Engineers, do give them a try.

If you like this and don't know Engineers, do give them a try. Just listening to them now, remind me of Air quite a bit.

I can definitely see where Paul is coming from with the Air comparison. They remind me a bit of Grandaddy too but with less guitar (excepting the final two tracks) and after a Mogadon or two. The only complaint I have really is that it's all a bit one-paced. It meanders along quite nicely but never actually ignites. A pleasant listen though. 7/10

Each time I put it on I like it but by track 6 I'm fed up , an odd track in a playlist would be great , 7/10 individually 6/10 as an album.

I was just watching the superb The Handmaid's Tale, ep.7. The end theme was recognisable, and sure enough it was Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby by Cigarettes After Sex. Nice song, very fitting with that episode, too.
