The amount of remotes I have is officially too many.
Pre Amp, CD, TV, Tivo, Freeview, Amazon Firestick, rarely used DVD
Is there a good one at a sensible price that can do the common things they all do ? Is it true I could use an iPad ?

I have the same issue (TV, Sky, AppleTV, DVD Player, CD, Surround Sound Amp, Amazon FireTV) and have looked at lots of options but in my experience they are usually a load of old rubbish. They aren't the most simple to setup and usually forget everything frequently.
Personally, if I were you and you chose to go down this route, get one for your TV system(s), but leave the hifi components well alone.
Re your iPad, there are lots of options out there, but again, my experience is that they aren't very reliable and I gave up in the end.

I tried a Philips Pronto and One4All in my time and, as you say, Paul, they end up being worse than using all the remotes separately.

Thanks guys. I'll keep it simple then. Maybe stick them on a board or similar

Mount them axially onto a rotating cylindrical frame mounted on the arm of your chair. Remote control gatling gun!

Our children would love it, they could channel hop all evening and drive me completely insane.
I just gently remove the remote from their hands now.
