The addition of two elastic bands now means that the weight of the speaker cables doesn't make the kit go walkabout when you so much as look at it a bit funny. A problem I believe Martin has had too with the little SMSL amp. By the way, yes, this was an attempt at humour but it really has solved the problem for me.

They must twang a bit. I'd put some damping rings on them if I were you.

That's just silly Chris. I am, however, thinking of trying different colours and different tensions.

Yes - they definitely need colour-coordinating

Blu tack would have worked as well and blu tack has better acoustic properties than rubber bands. Tell me as well - are you using the bands in the correct direction?

I'm confused. This is all new to me Chris. They're circular, so is the correct direction clockwise or anti-clockwise?

The biggest upgrade now is black elastic bands !

Clockwise Chris so the sound circulates evenly. And Mike - the silver ones give sweeter treble.
Going to stop now

But the rubber bands are twisted, and with more twists in one than the other, so the evenness is out the window from the start. It's going to end in tears, I tell you.

I could end up gong with these. They give much better bass/mid bass coherence apparently.

A problem I believe Martin has had too with the little SMSL amp. Yes indeed, the SMSL keeps sliding on the (old) Caiman DAC as the cables pull it at the back. I shall try this 'upgrade' forthwith! EDIT: love the short blue phono cables!

Sliding, yes I have that problem with my RDC cones under the Caiman, one slight movement and they're on the floor

EDIT: love the short blue phono cables! £4.99 a pair from sky_audio on eBay. I was going to make my own until I found them. Save
