Just noticed that on BBC Four tonight at 8.30 - 10pm you can see the Vienna Phil playing in the gardens of the beautiful Schonbrunn Palace that I visited this year - should be lovely!

Did anyone watch this stunning concert??
I enjoyed it *so* much. The Palace garden setting simply wonderful. Wish the gardens had been finished when we visited ...
They said there were about 100,000 people attending. I'd love to think that could happen here but not sure it could ...
A superb programme of music - I even enjoyed the singing by Renee Fleming, especially those wonderful Rachmaninov songs ... Finishing up with The Firebird was absolutely inspired ... Loved watching those people waltzing around during the Strauss!
The Vienna Phil are simply top class - such energy and commitment. I'm not sure there's a better orchestra. The Berlin Phil should have been watching and taking notes - there's no point in resting on your laurels, this was how to do it ...

Yes folks it's that time of year again for the luscious summer concert from Vienna, 19.45 tonight on BBC Four.
This year the boy Dudamel is pulling the strings. And shock horror, the guest soloist is Yuja Wang! Prepare to have some nice piano music battered into unfailing subservience L-O-L.
