I'm thinking about trying some of the Clearlight Audio RDC cones under my G99 turntable.
However, I need something that I can adjust the height of so as I can ensure the TT is level. There are some available which have threaded bar attached but they seem quite short, so there doesn't seem to be much adjustment available, especially if I wanted to add a nut to lock the thread in position. Does anyone know if they are immovably attached (i.e. glued or moulded into place) or are they screwed into threaded inserts and, therefore, removable? How long is the threaded part anyway - does anyone know?
Cheers Chris

I have some unusual RDC cones I got from Germany that may achieve what you want. Bolts threaded. Into the cone with a non threaded stub to go into the kiit If that stub fits into your kit ok then OK. If not some fettling to either deck base or bolt or both Never worked out before what they could be used for, now I think I know !

The threaded stub RDC Cones can be removed, they are just screwed in. You could therefore substitute longer threaded bar. Alternatively, consider using the cones into the RDC Cups. It improves performance and you can shim various corners with 10p coins underneath the cups (or even thinner washers) to gain level support.

Assumed the very best is to have maximum RDC contact top and bottom.
Seconded on the bases. The one part and the two part bases

Great, thanks guys. I was hoping it would be as you say Martin. Mike, I'm not sure what the ones you have might be used for either!

The threaded bits un-screw as MT said, so you can easily get longer threaded bar off ebay When I got my stocks of RDC I did not realize they came with threaded bar they were hidden in the bottom of the box so I bought some cut to length bars off ebay!! Tiny circles of sorbothane or rubber can be put under the cones to level them

Thanks very much. I have a few things that might work OK though, so I shall pass.
