I suspect not, I may have designed stuff for EWA but I am not a director, I think he is saying I get enough help from EWA , well 0 X 10,000,000 = 0 still. And the the last lots still owe me money for breach of contract, will I see it, I doubt it.

The DWP decided, in their infinite wisdom, that my disability had gone away back in 2012, which is rather strange as the symptoms persist to this day.

Odd how they make conclusions without professional people in charge or one's note from you specialists. My last stupid woman was just a nurse, and to be honest I suspect racist and in the job as a Nazi just for the money at over £40K. The other odd thing my brother Steve has one leg, My brother Alan has no knee caps, my daughter has many problems, my other brother is mentally retarded. And guess what our surname starts with a "W" and all of us had at one time been on DWL now PIP and all of us have to appeal. Then a wheel chair bound friend (since 6yrs old) with the name Winters had his stopped also. If my name was Umgowa or Nattheel I bet I would not have been refused PIP. Hey government I have paid my NI Stamps and Taxes since I was 16yrs Old for my pension and health care needs, so how about some help? Or maybe I can claim expenses for a London Palace home. This will do.

Very unlikely this is personal.
They don't care equally about everyone

I would rather die first that ask for any benefit. Take Take Take but don't want to give anything back you are rightly due to. I have even cut my hours down at work because it seems the more i earn the worse off i am with deductions, im sick off working to line their pockets & not mine.
Even the Pension age is getting further away. Most people will be six feet under by the time they are due it & they know that.

I have paid a large fortune in NI, PAYE and various other taxes personally and running a company for 36 years.
If it's legal I'll have some back

The amount of insurance is not proportional to car value but more in line with the model. About £450-£500 is about norm for a 2 litre so if you had a break in insurance £700 is a bit high but I think not that excessive. Anyway hope the new business starts bringing in some cash for you Col.

This will do. The twats that do the assessments don't give a fuck for anyone. Probably on some incentive to refuse benefits. I believe 80% of appeals are successful. This is likely costing the taxpayer even more money. I'm all for govt cuts but the assholes try to cut the wrong things and waste millions sub contracting to money grabbing con men companies. I doubt any organisation outside the public sector has enough expertise in this field. Don't take it personally.

I've paid a fair whack, including when I earned far more than twice what I do now and also when I was self-employed. They only put my retirement age back a year to 66 but even so, I'll likely croak a day after I retire!

The assessments were farmed out to the private sector, which I imagine means target driven. Your file will have been looked at and an assessment made before you've even been seen. Your not viewed as an individual, just as part of a sub group. Same way with the unemployed.
The general public don't have a clue as to how things now are with regards benefits. When I was made redundant at the start of the year it took 2 1/2 months (1/6 of a year) for a claim for Universal Credit to get sorted. I couldn't apply for Council Tax Benefit because I didn't know what Universal Credit I would get. And after the 2 1/2 months wait my Council Tax Benefit claim couldn't be back dated to cover this time.
The Government's austerity program is being paid for by the least able in society. So much for Theresa May's speech when she came into office. They haven't a clue what life is like for anyone at the bottom end of the social spectrum. And apparently, austerity isn't even working, despite benefits being frozen until 2020.
I'm just grateful I managed to find a job a couple of months ago. Not easy when your 60. Age discrimination in the workplace isn't supposed to exist now, but it does. At least I don't have the chew of expected to spend 5 hours a day seven days a week looking for and applying for jobs that don't exist. Even if you have a sick note for a condition, you still have to do a job search and apply for jobs. Ian Duncan Smith who's brainchild Universal Credit is, should try it for a few months.

I confess to not having known it was that bad, Stephen. I doubt my chances would be that good on the job market, but I can at least teach although my PGCE is post-compulsory meaning I could only teach sixth form upwards in state establishments. I'm glad you found a job, it can't have been at all pleasant.

Even the Pension age is getting further away. Most people will be six feet under by the time they are due it & they know that. You should take benefits if only to ensure your NI is paid otherwise breaks in your NI record could reduce your state pension. I lost my IT industry job aged 59 but had a new better paid one within 5 months. Now at 61 I can't wait to retire! For my 5 months out of work I claimed what were very low level benefits so I kept my NI credits running so I now have the years of NI needed for the full state pension....assuming they still pay this when I'll be 66. I'm hoping to retire on my private pensions in around 12 months. I have it easy. For those who need benefits it's very tough. It's also soul destroying to be in the benefits office even though on the whole the staff are very helpful.

I too have a private pension for what they are worth. A lot more than the state pension! My private pensions will provide a lot more than state and I'm glad I took every chance to take the work pension offered so that they had to contribute too.

I'm with Martin in that I've managed to put a lot into my defined contribution pension. The downside is the risk with drawdown if I don't buy an annuity...which are poor value though they have improved recently. My private pension will be let's say a few to several times the value of the state pension. Re NI...I have enough yearsnow but I needed more that 35 years as I was contracted out of Serps for a few years.

Well good news and hope for other, I appealed to the courts about the PIP most biased results. I, I won, I WON the first time in my life I WON. So THANK YOU APPEAL COURT it the only thing in the UK system that works.
So if you are having trouble with PIP (PICK ILL POCKETS) do appeal.
I was awarded 10 points I had 12 before but a result better than 0 points I was awarded, it nice to see that some justice works in this Island.
