I was rooting around in the garage today and decided to inspect the contents of one of those boxes that I have carried around for years, one successive house move after another, but never quite got around to unpacking! In one box of electrical and hi fi bits and bobs, I came across an Inca Tech 13 amp gold-plated mains plug! As an avid reader of the "big four" monthlies, during the 70's and 80's (Hi Fi Answers, Hi Fi News & Record Review, Popular Hi Fi and Practical Hi Fi) I vaguely remember this Inca Tech plug being given away free with one of those monthly magazines! Perhaps Colin14 can throw some light on this? The plug is in excellent condition and the gold plating really shines. Even the fuse is gold plated. I'll have to think of something to attach it to!    |

The first Gold plated plugs I did where 15Amp round pin, and it was a Xmas Gift for Chris Frankland of the Flat Response as he was always cleaning his brass ones. He called me and said I should make more but because I was a sceptic I labelled his "Goldunmains" and he thought that was crap, so he suggested "Inca Tech" so Inca Tech was born as a plug. This was just after Tony Relph (ex-Rega) stole A.C.Magnum from me good grief life is on repeat I hear you say, yep greedy bastards everywhere with no imaginations or skills, so they steal them. One day I will tell you about a now new speaker manufacture who also tried to nic my 4 Channel Inca Tech Quatra design renaming it the Lescon Quatra, he is now sharing the same distributor as my last disaster. As a mater of small interest he made speakers then and the one I designed got recommended cool eh.  With a Gold Plug.  |

May 1990 was the review date 27yrs ago.
Odd on the 20th May 1990 my wife Jenny died, dates odd.

You know they say that the worst kind of ship to set sail in is a partnership.
I learnt that lesson at considerable personal and professional cost and thankfully I have never been in a position for it to happen to me again, so I sympathise enormously with you, Colin.

You know they say that the worst kind of ship to set sail in is a partnership. I learnt that lesson at considerable personal and professional cost and thankfully I have never been in a position for it to happen to me again, so I sympathise enormously with you, Colin. Yep it is crap the trouble is I always trust humans because that's how I would like to be treated, but it leave a bloody disgusting taste in the mouth and bad smell in the nostrils when people treat you as a friend and when they have taken all they need they screw you. But life is fatal. |
