Many years ago in Plymouth there was a Triumph TR4 registered BMP 2A. Written on the boot lid above the number plate was TA RA RA.
You have to say it out loud...
I always thought the most expensive one was COM1C. Paul Daniels or Jimmy Tarbuck IIRC.

They tend to rise in value, so maybe not a bad investment.

I can see both sides of the number plate argument.
Much prefer the amusing or very apt ones to the ostentatious ones on big expensive motors
Could have got one about 20 years ago for around £300 FPP A4
Would have been apt for the company I ran Four Point Printing, specialising in A4 print

Reputed to have been seen in a London garage, Two Range Rovers registered 2B and NOT2B respectively. Presumably a thespian household.

On the way to Heathrow Airport last Wednesday, we ended up behind a black Mercedes C Class (nothing really special) with the number plate HMG 1.
At first, I thought, "Government car?"
However, it seems a particularly valuable plate to have on something that is a runabout and not a limo!
Any views?

I used to admire a Chrysler Crossfire a few years back it was metallic blue convertible , ladies car I thought as the plate was CLA 1R , all pushed together of course , it then materialised on a BMW , then a Bentley convertible , which I saw most days as the owner had moved nearer and I discovered the owner was Clair Ince ex-footballer Paul's wife , it now adorns a rather large Range Rover.

I am amazed at the amount of Range Rovers of all types around here. The Oxymoron of low profile tyres on them is proof they will never go off road, well maybe park on a pavement or two

I just love the way they move swiftly to the overtaking lane and then 'own' it until they reach their exit.

Interesting question in the pub quiz this evening.
"Which famous vehicle used the number plates SCV 00919 and SCV 1?"
Any takers? No cheating now!
