I just got a Black Tulip 370 power amp and a pre 270 I will have to wait a few days before I get some Y adapters in the post before I can plum it into the system. Not certain how it will work in my system. If it works as well as I hope means I have my TT back in action. Time will tell I allso have a slagle pre that I can try it with

Ah, 370/270. Nice. Philips vintage gear rules! I've a 370 in one system and a 380 in the other. There is real synergy between the pre and power, ime.

I really hope it works for you John. Are the splitters so that you can split the feed off to a bass amp?

John - if you need a pair of 4mm banana to DIN plug adapters for the speaker connections I have a spare pair knocking around somewhere. Happy to post them off to you.

Be nice to have the TT up and running without having to change amps which is a complete pain and like Jerry I enjoy music that has a clean top and good sense of speed so a good chance this will thick those boxes At present James I am open minded if it works in my system as well or better than the NAD 7050 and I think there is a good chance it will. I will need to replace the 7050 with dedicated DAC (probably the Cunas) The other reason is Vic system is basically the same as mine but beats it in quite a few areas, I think the difference is mostly in the amp and bass drivers. I want a slightly different flavour to the sound. Is there anyone people know I could get to look over the amp to ensure all the capacitors etc are good.

Well got all the cables (thanks Jerry for the speaker adaptors) Its early days but certainly a keeper I am using the NAD as DAC/PRE which suprises me that it works so well Differences more depth it goes into the blackness so picks up information that was hinted at. Good sense of body and plenty of speed. Its another level of refinement without my system losing that attack I love. So far played some world music and now listening to Dream Theater In the Prescence of Enemies Pt 2 Amp takes about 20mins to really come on song

Lets hope it stays one of those bargins I will add the pre when I decide what DAC to get but no rush to get rid of the NAD as works pretty well as a stand alone DAC

How are you getting on with the Tulip John?
I'm hoping to have a really good session tomorrow with some new vinyl arrivals ...

Still have the same thoughts of the Tulip Jules It takes a bit of time to warm up compaired to the previos set up. More detail, and punch, with the same sense of speed and a newfound refinement to it. I still not added the pre but will do that when I get a new DAC at some point.
