And what exactly is that gadget going to do? Speed up the USB data rate?

I've compared the iPurifier, iUSB3.0 and Regen (with linear PS). The iUSB3.0 came out best with Regen 2nd and iPurifier still doing a useful job in 3rd. My situation is that my USB card uses external power so the iUSB3.0 and Regen not only provide benefits with reclocking but cleaner power for the USB card too. This will make my comparisons only valid for those in a similar situation.

Whilst I don't use any 'regenerators' or reclocking at all, due to using an asynchronous USB interface, there are some good benefits from isolating the USB power supply, I use: www.aqvox.de/usb-power_en.html

The sound has moved on a little bit since you last heard it Mike even deeper soundstage and a lot easier playback method using Kodi 17 set up for high quality audio Getting a reclocker should also improve the sound but will get on sale or return just in case it does not. I am waiting to read some stuff about a new IFI Gavalnised USB product they have coming out in April
