Finally got round to boxing this thing up. Was rewally fed up with skating across the stand when I touched it. Being a cheapskate I found an old Sure amp board box. Not too bad IMO of course.  |

Did you colour the valves blue or is it the light?

It is a "feature" of this Hi-End (£9) preamp  There is an LED under each valve base. I might remove them at some stage, however now that most of the valve is hidden the "bling" factor is much less in your face. |

I'll try a pair of the valves Puffin linked to.
I run mine from a 13.8v PSU i had laying around, not a lot of difference from the wart, but it all helps.
