- Everyone is welcome to join.
- This is a hi-fi forum, nothing posted is a matter of life or death. It should not be necessary to get hot under the collar but should you find yourself rising to it, please calm down, take a chill pill and think before typing. Just write as if you were talking to people face-to-face. Discussion of politics or religion should be avoided as it nearly always ends in tears.
- Never attack another member. Arguing the idea (politely) is fine, but no personal insults please.
- Deliberate and continued trolling for the purposes of causing upset to other members will be very quickly prevented from escalating. If necessary, a value judgement will be made about the continued presence of the member against the greater good of the forum, and suitable action taken.
- The forum has no bias towards any particular technology or source format. The high quality reproduction of music should be the highest common goal.
- No particular category of music should be given pre-eminence over any other and all are welcome for discussion.
- The forum covers limited budgets and budget equipment up to the best there is.
- There are no trade accounts. Every member is an individual and expresses their own opinion. Members who are in the trade should declare their interest in their signatures and behave accordingly. The forum is not an opportunity to sell product unless directly requested.
- The forum will be moderated in accordance with the above rules. Moderators have the right to edit posts which contravene these rules. Banning will be employed only in the most exceptional of circumstances.

New Forum Rule
We have added the following new rule:
4. Deliberate and continued trolling for the purposes of causing upset to other members will be very quickly prevented from escalating. If necessary, a value judgement will be made about the continued presence of the member against the greater good of the forum, and suitable action taken.
We would like to reiterate at this point that we are concerned only with members' behaviour on TAS and not on any other forum. What goes on elsewhere does not concern us. We have asked that all baggage be left at the door, and that goes for us too.
Thank you to everyone for helping to make this such a congenial membership. Unlike some places, we do not believe that conflict is to be encouraged. Healthy debate, on the other hand, is very much our reason for creating this forum.

Further Announcement
Due to recent trolling of our forum, we will be revising the forum rules to take a more aggressive stance against those members who wish to cause upset and conflict among others. We will also come down hard on those who continue to bring issues from other forums into TAS. In the meantime, we will be applying a 50% warning to the first post, followed by an immediate ban on the second. No arguments, no debate, our actions will be final.
