Have lashed up a pair of Altec Lansing 806-8a with Isophon DKT horn tweeters on my OB's. Liking what I'm hearing so far. Got the AL's from Sov here, rather nice they are, and the 104 or so db is great with the OTL. r]

I was wondering if you were using a linear power supply with the mini dsp

Yes, I use one of Nick's LDA supplies, very good they are too.

Brilliant, glad you are finding your way with them . I was a bit sad to see them go to be honest but I'm certainly not in the place to make any use of them and I know that you are so have a blast with them .

An OTL is one of those itches I need to scratch. I'd love to build Bruce's 300B OTL but eight 300Bs shouldn't be bought on a whim. Mini Beast looks like a sane option and Evermore could be nice for some EL34 sound or 6550 for a more neural sound...though it's 16 of each, eek!

Well can certainly recommend the Mini Beast Clive, assuming 4w is enough of course..

4W should be fine. One of my amps is 2.5W, it's just ok. The speakers are about 100db sensitivity, maybe even 103.

Should be no problem then.

Further experiments. I'm now trying a rare set of Crysler D 500 compression drivers with horns, and a pair of SB Acoustics Sartori TW29r tweeters. This is the best sound I've found so far, though having had a discussion with a friend building his own horn setup, it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go four way, and run a pair of Alpair A12P drivers from 200-800 hz, as the Eminences are not really happy going up that high.
