Mine kept bugging me about her nine year old Hyundai Getz car and its now regular period of breakdown. I got her a Hyundai i20 today. Well paid for it in any case. That's killed my own dream and budget of owning a Volvo V40 any time soon  . |

Been in that London all day so best I could do was a bunch of flowers from m&s at King's Cross.
Still, she was happy I'd remembered. We never make a big deal of it.

Miserable buggers. Apart from Stan. I'm the same. Nowt given, nowt received. It's all a commercialised con game.  .... it does seem important to some ladies of my acquaintance, though, who seem well pleased when they are shown recognition one day in 365 arbitrarily nominated by commercial powers. Strange creatures, women, but we knew that already. Treat 'em decent all year round, that's my motto.  |

We did wish each other a happy valentines and said a few nice things to each other, but that's it. I'm not into cards and I'd rather buy presents when I see something than when I'm told to as part of some marketing gimmick

Due to Sue having a stinking cold, we didn't go out for our usual meal, but I stepped up to the plate as chef, with coquilles st jaques a la Breton for starter, pan fried duck breasts in port and orange sauce for main, and chocolate fondant bake (cheat - E Leclerc dessert section) for desert, with Blanquette de Limoux apperetif. The 13th is her birthday, so sort of joint, she had a Yamaha Clavinova CLP575 which she adores, and plays beautifully. What could be more romantic than your own house pianist? Oh - and I remembered to bring a card back from Blighty, and picked up a box of chocs too |

Paracetamol and Ribena. "her indoors" has had Pneumonia for nearly two weeks, Anti-B's all used up so back to Doc today as she is no better.

I was going to take her out for a nice breakfast at a local farm shop, but she opted to watch a DVD instead, quite surprising really.
But I did buy her card the day before to wake her up with.
I must admit, I'm a bit of a softie when it comes to my daughter, I've been buying her a card for the last four years, and she loves it. She is only seven years old.

I took her out for a slap up meal on Monday to celebrate the occasion. For Valentines, I bought her some chocolates and a Pandora charm. She paid for some CDs I'd already bought (which is an interesting concept as our money is shared lol) and some chocolates, oh and we had takeout. |

I bought her some mini perfume samples - highly recommended gents. You get say 10 for a tenner,all different and really,you can't lose. She finds a perfume or 7 that she really likes and you take note and buy her a bigger bottle next time!

I bought her a new bag and matching belt.
The good news is that the hoover works again, so she can now clean the house.
(I actually took her away for a long weekend in La Rochelle).
