What kinda stuff do you favour watching.
Im all late 60's/'70's Sci-Fi but have a very strong attraction in particular to Utopian/Dystopian movies ie: Brave New World, Logans Run, THX 1138 etc etc...

Police procedural dramas, sci-fi, fantasy/horror, 'suspense' movies (which mostly died with Hitchcock), "English" dramas - think Midsummer Murders and Grantchester, Poirot/Marple etc. NCIS, CSI, and all the other acronyms. There are more but this is getting boring,
I don't watch soap operas, reality shows, reality soap operas, most quiz shows (I do watch University Challenge and Mastermind from time to time) most sit-coms (there is still the odd good one, but they are few and far between), and 99% of costume dramas. There are more but this is getting equally boring,

It's probably easier to say what I won't watch: Soaps are top of the hate list, followed by game shows and talent shows. Police procedural dramas and costume dramas are a big "no" too. I hate the Sunday night drivel we've been landed with over the years, such as Heartbeat or Ballykissangel. I'm not sure what genre that is, but I call it "tranquilliser TV". Reality TV usually gets a thumbs down too: I have no interest in watching plebs with no manners or breeding trying to lower themselves even further just to grab the spotlight. American sitcoms are poison too. Canned laughter and "live studio audiences" make me so angry. Cheers is the worst show ever to hit the air IMO. I don't tend to watch movies because they require more time and effort than I can invest. Sports are a turn-off too, with the exception of UFC and F1. Oh and anything medical is a total switch off, as are arts programmes, daytime TV, shopping channels, and the entire output of ITV.
I do like documentaries, especially anything about the cosmos or pre-history. I also enjoy some of the 60s and 70s programmes such as The Avengers, Steptoe and Son and Star Trek. I love Father Ted and always will. Anything with Karl Pilkington in it has me glued as well.

I no longer watch much TV but I'm completely hooked on Game of Thrones, Homeland, Suits and The Blacklist. For foreign, The Bridge is head and shoulders above the rest.

Good old B&W 1940's/50's war films. Not just for the film (though many of them are prize-winning), but the amusing propaganda which is not always well hidden, and the wonderful class/accent distinction prevalent (Noel Coward versus Richard Attenborough) !
Examples:
In Which We Serve The Cruel Sea Cockleshell heroes The Silent Enemy Ice Cold in Alex (my all time favourite)

I like a good revenge movie. Dead Mans Shoes is a good example and I also enjoy a good UFO/Alien film. I also enjoy factual based documentaries - the one on Gordon Welchman was good as was the look inside Porton Down.
Interesting stuff.
Im with singularity here as well - Father Teds ace as is Chewin the Fat and Still Game.
