If I want better sounding system, I'd change my speakers first. You don't want a better sounding system. Ok. Suggest you find something else to do. This is a waste of your time and everyone else here

You're both on stony ground ( steve and @karnevil9 ). If you've not tried them, you have nothing to say about the subject.

Nope, as there is an 30 day return for full refund policy in play here, Perhaps you might avail yourself of the option and therefore have far more more credibility when posting in this thread either in favour or quite the opposite ? I've better things to spend my money on. Credbility? my arse! Not sure what Ladyboy Hookers have got to do with it but hey it's your money. of course you are entitled to express your opinion and have done just that, however unless you have experimented with these products then anything else that you say on this topic will have Zero empirical credibility and most likely mere thread crapping and Trolling.

So whats up with Schuko plugs & no fuse at all? And how will replacing the Internal current grid rail fuse with a Schuko plug work ?

You use a fuse where you have to. If you don't have to, then you wouldn't use one of course.

This thread is long, but I have learned that there's a good opportunity to experiment with fuses, as mine are on my amp outputs, and are thus more audible. Can anyone recommend some to try - I'll have a proper read though the thread soon though...

If you want to try cheap ones, AMR Gold.

If you want to try cheap ones, AMR Gold. Hmmmmm...I would recommend the opposite strategy and start off at the top end first and initially experiment with SR Blue's . were you to not perceive any positives then you are unlikely to perceive anything with a less effective AMR Gold. Bearing in mind the 30 day full refund available to you, and you do perceive positives consider returning the Blues which are rather spendy and replace them with Red's, which are nearly half the cost, and compare them to the Blues. you still have option of returning the SR fuses and perhaps experiment with AMR Or Furutech etc. etc. The point being that you will have a reference of the 'higher' end of the market to compare with less spendy fuses.

He's going to need at least two for amp outputs. I would say the AMRs will show him the difference they can make to start with.

Quite feasibly Martin, however I would say starting with a Blue would leave no room for doubt either way, straight away, and only cost him a couple of £ return postage.
Either way I hope he has fun tweaking his system.

I always used to go for cheap and if ok trade up. That's why I have so much kit and accessories to sell from my long upgrade trail In future I will either go near the top or at least some way up the tree. Much bigger difference in sound quality too !

Thanks for the thoughts gents seems like I might be comparing the AMRs with the SR fuses, and the existing straight wire glass ones, in an afternoon with the amp’s case off. I do fear that that given the range of the SR fuses that they might be adding flavour, what are they doing to up the specs?

Well I took the plunge (cheaply) ordered some PADIS fuses for my power amp and the SEG. The internal fuse for the SEG, I do hope its a 5mmx20mm, didnt even think about it before ordering.

The internal fuse for the SEG, I do hope its a 5mmx20mm, didnt even think about it before ordering. Yes, it is! I've ordered an SR Red to replace the HiFi Tuning fuse in my SEG, such is the pace of development in my use of it recently. It now warrants the best (well, a Red anyway).

Fantastic, thank you Martin. Plugged in my DIY Oyaide Tunami V2+ElecAudio power cable yesterday, promising. One ear bunged up and can still tell there is a clear benefit. Will be interesting to hear a fuse upgrade.

I've just replaced the 15V DC line fuse in my Caiman DAC, from a Hi-Fi Tuning Supreme to an SR Red. First listen now and I can already hear a change for the better on female voice. Juliette Commagere, Mindy Smith and Norah Jones, who all have quite breathy voices, are just more there, with improved inflection and presence.
It's a small but delightful thing.

Just installed the PADIS fuses in amp and SEG. Some improvement in the amp but the SEG, major change. Right now, clarity, larger/deeper sound stage and some changes in bass response/tone that is just different. I expect this to be somewhat like a power cord, will stabilize and even out in a few days.
