Definitely seasonally affected for me.
Tend to be less grumpy and fed up in the warmer and lighter months.

Definitely seasonally affected for me. Tend to be less grumpy and fed up in the warmer and lighter months. Me too. The lack of daylight has been the biggest downer in my life. I also suffer with hypoglycaemia which affects my temperament too. Somehow this is worse in cold weather. Warm weather and sunshine do wonders for me.

Grumpy? What about Sleepy and Sneezy and Doc and Bashful and Dopey eh? Sod Happy, he doesn't care!
Seriously though, yes I get very grumpy. That's when I've taught myself not to post on forums. That's not a joke by the way. In the past I've let my grumpiness spill over into day to day conversations and felt very stupid and had to be very contrite afterwards. It's a lot easier to just shut up and come back later these days.

Cen put up with a lot. Certain things are not negotiable
I go for the most efficient way I can. Takes some doing occasionally and certainly needs training and a mindset that has taken years to achieve

I try not to be grumpy, but I do lack tolerance of people who waste my time and those negative types who suck the life out of everyone around them.
Mostly, though, I prefer to smile if I can.

I empathise. People either radiate light or suck it away from others. Sadly, hifi forums appear to have more than the odd "black hole". Just like galaxies, you can occasionally observe a "super-massive" one at the epicentre. Best to stay beyond the event horizon and stick to TAS methinks!

There's a big difference, Andr'e, between those who grump occasionally and those whose whole persona is that of a negative moaning minnie that you just want to back away from.
There is a cleaner at work whom I used to greet every morning and ask how she was. I would be thanked with a 10-minute torrent of moaning negativity that made me wonder why she just didn't lay down and die if it was all that bad.
The outcome is that I never ask her how she is any more. She probably thinks I'm the rude one, but I simply don't want her cloud-of-misery touching me.

I learned with people you never ever ask them if they are ok because nine times out of ten they will say No & off they go moaning

I'm quite a fairly approachable fellow. If I get badly aggravated, and provoked in a negative way. I can easily turn rude and bitter. My family calls me moody S.

Negative vibes don't do anyone any good. I try to fight against them. Usually I succeed.

I was talking to my wife about this very thing over Christmas, and I've come to the conclusion that I am very intolerant, which in itself makes others think I'm grumpy.

Intolerance can be a good thing IMO: Tolerance, positive discrimination and political correctness piss me right off. I'm fed up with declining moral standards and social norms with people thinking they can do what ever the heck they like no matter how it impacts on others and society in general. We are ruled by far too many libertarian do-gooders preaching tolerance and understanding which simply pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable. There is already a backlash as seen by Brexit and Trump. People have been pushed too far by the softie, left-leaning political buffoons that have flushed the Western World down the toilet. I'm not sure either are the correct medicine for our ills, but I do believe they are a sign of frustration and desperation by ordinary hardworking people who want to arrest the decline. I live in hope of a far more authoritarian stance on crime, welfare and immigration. Blair and his ilk have only fed and nurtured the disease. Now we need a real sea-change in thinking where "tolerance" isn't automatically seen as a virtue. Well done Paul for being intolerant Oh, and I'm not grumpy. Just speaking my mind.
