My amp is a heavily modified Bewitch. It's had the Lampizator mods done to it and as part of that it's hard wired into triode mode.
I would like to have the Ultralinear mode reinstalled and will be taking it into a shop to get the work done as well as a minor health check - how much should I expect to pay for a wee job like this?
I'm going to be taking in the circuit diagram so the blokes got a better idea of what he's dealing with.
As always,answers much appreciated.

Well that's not much of a job, just swapping a few connections around. Might have to fit some new wire if the tappings on the output trannie are tags, rather than flying leads. If it's a minor health check, HT voltages, bias levels, visual for failing components, then I'd say 2 hours tops.
Hope this helps, Alan

Cheers firebottle. Anything else worth doing whilst it's opened up?

I'm just wondering from your question whether the shop you mention taking it to has experience with valve kit. Interesting looking amplifier, particularly as originally the triode/ultralinear mode was switchable. For absolute peace of mind either look at the voltage on R11 & 12, it should be zero, or disconnect one end of C3 & 4 and check for leakage, again should be zero. As the amp is built on a pcb it is easy to give all the components a visual check, any signs of thermal stress should be investigated. Here are the Lamizator details for anyone interested lampizator.eu/AMPLIFIERS/CHINA/bewitch%206550/Bewitch.htmlCheers, Alan

Given your location, it might be worth contacting Philip Ramsey at Bluebell Audio.
www.bluebellaudio.com/
Give him a ring and explain your needs, he's a nice man to deal with.
NB I have no connection with Bluebell other than as a satisfied customer.

Thanks again fellas - I will take this into the bloke.
Pre65 - Bluebell are supposed to be very good but a wee bit too far away. I've used Colin Hood Audio before and he knows what he's doing but I'm giving another shop a try as it's a bit closer.
Firebottle - have to say I was a bit surprised when he said yes on the phone! Fingers crossed as it'll be really handy if he's good.
