Hello everyone,i have just bought a pair of Albarry amps i dont know anything about and i hope they are good. What i would like to know is what speakers would work best with them? All i do know is they are 60 watts per channel apart from that i nothing about Albarry amplifiers. Are the amps any good or have i bought something that is no good? By the way i do like my rock music if that helps.Thank you

I don't think I have ever heard a system with the 508 in it but every time I witnessed one with Alberry monos in it, I thought it sounded excellent. On that evidence, I wouldn't think you have much to worry about. I think the price of their amps went up to silly levels recently.

These are quite old amplifiers,i think the chap said about 30 years old. But what would be best speakers to use?

It's impossible to answer your question as the range is too wide. At 60Wpc I would say you're looking at medium to sensitive speakers. However, do you want floorstanders, stand-mounts or bookshelf? What is your budget? Room size? New or used?

Some years ago I had a four box set of Albarry amps and they made great music. One thing I would say is that you should most likely look for some lively speakers, especially if you like rock music, as the Albarrys I had were certainly rather 'smooth' sounding and will sound far too polite with any speaker that has any roll-off in the treble.

Lots of potential choice, as Martin has said. I'd give a shout out for a pair of Spicas if you can find some. Stil my very favourites.
