Why ?? The title was clearly his ultimate goal and now he has ti he probably cant be asked anymore and just wants to settle to an easier life with family - fair enough. Worth adding this to F1 thread I think.

I don't have any positive feelings for Rosberg but I can feel some empathy having retired this year. Retirement is good.
Assume he has more than enough money to see him out.
Rossi continues to race in MotoGP at 30 odd. Must be because he loves doing it. He must have had enough money to see him out many years ago

Amazes me how well he still does. He is always there or thereabouts in the past few years. Untouchable in his prime. Every year his chances fade further.
So many people watch to see him race and preferably win I expect audience figures to plummet when he retires
