Watched it earlier today and loved it. It's a lot better than the latest incarnation of Top Gear and back up to the standard we expect from Jeremy and co. Superb Oh and I want that McLaren!

I watched it t'other day and was quite happy to see that it had the feel of top gear circa 2012. Take it as an entertainment program with really cool cars rather than a car program and it works. I used to look forward to watching it on a Sunday night. Im quite looking forward to watching the grand tour on Thursday. I signed up to Amazon prime on a free 30 day trial just to watch it, how many others will do the same? We regularly use Netflix, we have a subscription for that allows 3 screens so we can watch it at the same time as the kids, and she who must be obeyed's dad watches it at his house too. Looking at the selections amazon have, and the option to rent new films too, I'm seriously considering keeping the subscription once the free trial ends.
The grand tour is one hell of a hook for subscriptions

Thanks Jules Perhaps Amazon look at this as a loss leader or maybe they think they will get their money back I believe ITV think they have a chance of getting some repeat broadcasts of this as Amazon will want to recoup some of the costs ... It would weaken Amazon's 'offer' though if they can't say it's exclusive to them.

The grand tour is one hell of a hook for subscriptions There are quite a few Amazon Video TV series that are worth watching - The Man in the High Castle, Bosch etc. You can also watch Vikings and other series not available on Freeview.
With Amazon music you also get MP3 downloads of the CDs you have bought in the past.
Be aware however that free next day delivery isn't 100% guaranteed. I waited at home all day yesterday for a delivery and received an email at 5.30pm saying they were not able to deliver, and you don't get compensated automatically when that happens.

Absolutely agree. Very disappointing and not even funny or entertaining. 1st episode was promising although in both episodes, I felt when a car was actually being featured, there was far less technical detail compared to what used to be discussed on TG. The emphasis now seems to be more on how well a car will drift around a corner. Very useful. Something I do in mine all the time

I watched episode 2 last night, and must agree it was below par compared to the first one.

Something I do in mine all the time I agree, I love cars but I really struggle with the three muppets on Grand Tour, they infuriate me. I don't know what the trend of opinion is but at least the new Top Gear is mainly about cars, in fact I thought each episode was packed with all sorts of cars, then you had the extra 20 minute show on iPlayer. Yes C. Evans got on my nerves but I could overlook that due to the quality content.

Well, that's it for me. First episode was very promising, laugh out loud funny and an extravagant opener. Seems like all the good ideas and budget went into that one though. Episode 2 was quite dire, but although I thought it impossible the third was as bad, if not worse. All three of them seem to think they are funny just by existing and the stars of a long running successful sitcom. The limited comedy from their respective caricature personas has been beaten to death with a shovel and I'd hoped they would use the new venture and implement to bury them at last.
Wife asked "and we are watching this because...?"
I had no answer.

I enjoyed the third episode. Agree that the second was dire, the dressing up as soldiers and trying to create a video-game style vibe never worked for me when they were on the BBC.
Will give the fourth episode a try this weekend, so long as they talk about cars I'm happy, it's the other stuff that I find doesn't work.

The Fourth episode is pretty similar to the 3rd (Ok but not great). Repeating the same joke does not help They take on environmental friendly cars was a bit of a mess imo

I'm also an Amazon Prime fan, HOWEVER I too have found that recently the next day delivery service often doesn't arrive the next day (it always used to). I also am finding that since they introduced their paid 'Music unlimited' service, the number of new free titles has diminished. Add to that the fact that a few CD's have arrived with damaged boxes, and it seems to be not quite the value that it used to be.

I did have an issue with a next day delivery recently where I stayed at home all day on Saturday and then got an email at 5.30pm saying they might not deliver that day. Fortunately when they did deliver on the Monday they left the package outside the door rather than leaving a card. I think they must be struggling this Christmas because the volume of sales is growing at such a rate.
If you complain about a failed next day delivery I understand they will often offer you a free extension of 1 month on your Prime subscription. You just need to give them a call or send an email apparently.

Wife asked "and we are watching this because...?" I had no answer. +1. I'm not going to bother further. I have also had issues with delivery not being next day on a couple of occasions and it's not just a Christmas thing. These were several months ago. I think it's about their high turnover of drivers (who they insist are self employed) who struggle to meet the demands placed on them. This was recently covered by a local news programme suggesting Amazon are operating outside the law. Certainly the so called self employment is illegal as a person cannot be self employed and work for a single company only, but that rule is generally ignored by the government these days. The programme suggested drivers were working excessive and illegal hours to complete their delivery schedules, one driver stating he had to excrete into a plastic bag in the back of the van as he had no time to find a toilet I also notice that on Prime TV, a series may offer the first episode free, but then you are expected to pay to watch further. Not impressed. Hmmm, Prime doesn't seem to be quite the good service it initially was
