Does someone else have experience with Chinese / any Linear PSU upgrade? I used to use a Paul Hynes linear PSU as stated here.

I'm now powering mine with one of the Chinese PSU's mentioned earlier, and I can't really hear a difference between it and the battery. How would you describe the difference in sound between original switched power supply and the Chinese linear PSU? One Hum Low, One Hum High

I feel how you are pushing me towards the battery supply I don't like the re-charging cycle, but maybe I will borrow it and give it a try. Own experience is priceless.

Running a battery is easy and doesn't need any human intervention. Connect the battery to your DAC and run it as usual without ever switching it off. Now connect the charger through a timer plug and programme it to only charge overnight, not when you're listening.
The result is that you listen only in battery mode and it's kept nicely topped up every night.
