Only recently "discovered" this stuff (the original) and I love it. Makes your hair feel nice and tames my hair's wildness. No more getting up and having to deal with bed head. A little bit goes a long way too. It even smells nice. Anyone else a fan? What else does everyone use on their hair?

Furniture polish - trying for a sheen that would dazzle on the main surface area

I remember my Dad smearing my bonce with the stuff when I was but a child, but I've never used the stuff myself. My hair (when I had some) was naturally greasy.
I also remember my Mum throwing a jar of Brylcreem at me once, made such a mess. I must have been a little bugger.

I still have the sort of hair that acts like it's picked up static from sleeping Either that or I've been hung upside down when it's been drying, The Brylcreem is the sort of tonic I've needed all my life. I've messed about with waxes and gels but never would've thought of Brylcreem because I assumed it had been surpassed by better technology. Now I discover (much like hifi) that the "progress" we've been sold is largely BS

The RAF were known as "The Brylceem Boys" during World War II, which was a little before my time. When I was a lad Brylcreem was something that one's father used and that mum used, on occasion, to slather on your head as some sort of punishment as near as I could make out. When my hair was (very) long back in the seventies I did, on occasion use this stuff... Nowadays though I'm the same as Brian, hair clippers; a #2 all over. I do use Mo Bros beard oils though.

I remember Cossack! great to see vintage ads. I think you're right about Brylcreem being "dated" when I was young. Never even heard of beard oil though. Mind you, I've never gone more than 2 days without a shave

I've never gone more than 2 days without a shave I did many years ago in Namibia when I drove up to the Etosha Pan for a few days and forgot my shaver. I didn't like the look or feel of it and have never missed a day's shave since.

I didn't like the look or feel of it and have never missed a day's shave since. It gets more comfortable when the growth gets to 5-6mm. I'm mainly clean shaven though.

I suffered an accident in my teens that somehow affected my system. One of the side effects is that I don't need to worry about growing a beard. There is no hair for me to worry about.
As for brylcream: use the transparent version. The white and green ones have a strong smell that I can't stand.

I'm on the clippers every week or so. My wife wants me to Bic the lot like a light bulb, but I prefer to keep it about a No. 2 I don't need furniture polish, it seems to sheen all by itself.

I use Bic to shave with. Twin and triple blade razors seem to block too easily and I've never liked the feel of electric shavers. I started using Bic when my (then) favourite sportsman, John McEnroe advertised them

I cut my own hair with Wahl electric clippers.
Number 1 all over most of the year, might stay with number 2 for the winter.
Jean trims the back bits I can't see.
