Google seem to have decided that a feature I have used for yonks isn't necessary. They've stopped the backspace button on my keyboard from taking me back to the previous page I was viewing. Why exactly, I don't know but it's been infuriating me for weeks now. I have now found out that they have made a little bit of software that I can stitch onto Chrome to put that feature back. Why they couldn't leave the bloody thing as it was and allow people to remove the feature if they wanted to, I will never know, but like all software manufacturers, they seem to imagine that their latest whim is the thing their customers have been longing for all their lives. Anyway, if it's been pissing you off too, then here's the link to the think you need to restore normality. Go Back With Backspace Note: this entire post about software was proudly made without the use of loblocks terms such as 'functionality' or 'ecosystem'.

Bizarre - backspace is the 'go back a page' key on every browser I know. Perhaps they're developing a new ecosystem...

I did not know such a keyboard button existed.
I use the arrows next to the refresh (reload) button in Chrome.
But then I use a wireless mouse with my laptop and home pc.
Also, my Lenovo laptop (T540p) has the little red joggle control which I much prefer to the touchpad if not using a mouse.

As a general rule, I find people are far too tied to their mice and don't learn useful keyboard shortcuts for doing things quickly.

A mouse is what I like.

The one that you use to go back a space when you're typing.

Thought it was me or my PC
My way around is the 'back' button on my lovely Logitech wireless mouse

Ctrl-Enter to insert a page break - I use that all the time when working on complex documents, and Ctrl-Tab to switch between browser tabs.
