I recently bought my wife this mobile phone as a replacement for her old one ( an older Nokia accidentally damaged). The problem she has with it is that it looses the battery charge during or slightly after 24 hour light usuage or sooner: does anyone on here use this particular model and do you have the same prob and if so how did you rectify it? Been online and this is a prob others have had!
My three year old Nokia/Microsoft (Windows 8) 530 does not have this problem... battery charge lasts a minimum of 48/50 hours so I'm reluctant to upgrade to the 650.
A Samsung Galaxy 7 with an exploding battery is defo out of the question

I was on the verge of buying a Galaxy Note 7 too - lucky escape !
I've now settled for a Lumia 950 - I don't have any problems with battery - mine lasts a couple of days.
I've noted differences in behavior to my previous Android phone though which could potentially cause higher battery use, for example it seems to automatically 'go wireless' when it detects a wireless network in range. Also it does seem to default to having its GPS turned on. Worth checking both those things
I'm generally very happy with it though, and I find the Microsoft system much better to use than Android so I'll probably stay with MS in the future.

In my experience (always had Nokias) the battery consumption is high when it has a poor mobile / wireless signal. If you put it into battery saver mode it will last a lot longer and will still receive calls fine but won't burn through the battery trying to refresh email and run apps in the background. In general I've found that the Nokia batteries don't last all that well and 24 hours is a stretch.

Yes, higher battery consumption in poor mobile signals is a given. Microsoft have just released an update which improves consumption with wi-fi too. My 950 gets through the day quite nicely.

People have to charge their phones every day?! Put the bloody thing down every now and then!

It's not glued to my hand like every student at my school! Ruth's daughter's iPhone lasts half a day. I jest with her that she could try talking, but then that's punishment of a different kind

Thanks everyone for your response. Comforting to know that battery charge life is not unique to my wife's 650. I suppose when you look at the start of the mobile phone (the brick with red city braces) they were having to charge 'em up every hour! When my contract runs out in July 2017 I'm giving serious consideration to the MS950. For those who already use this model are you happy with it and performance ways what sort of rating would you give this model? Thanks.

I have an Apple iPhone 5S and the battery is pretty dire with light usage, I generally find myself charging it on a daily basis.
The Microsoft (not sure model) I have from work is a lot better and can last a good couple of days without needing a charge.
I agree with Martin though, when I am out and about in less than ideal areas for signal, because the phones continually request signal, batter life reduces significantly.

It's a superb phone in every way, it just does the job I need it to do for work and leisure. Running Windows 10 makes it a proper tool rather than a toy.
