Well I am certainly an overweight middle aged man, assuming that 38 is considered middle aged? I'd add that I can bore anyone senseless talking about hifi, and know a few like me 38? Yer pulling me plonker, mate. Asay, yer pulling me plonker. It's a well-known (and recognized) fact that anyone with any Audiophile pretensions will now be in the 50 + age range - it's an Old Gits' activity. Reading your posts, I'd put you at 56, 52 at a stretch. We're all getting old, mate. Admit it. Come to terms with it. And move on. You'll get a new perspective on life when you do. Trust me.

Seemed to have killed this thread stone dead. Just another 2537 to go!
Humour: Not what it used to be.

Never mind the 50+ range, the 60+ territory is getting too friggin' close for my comfort!

I don't think you're allowed into TAS until you're properly middle aged, you know...

Young body, old soul. So true Jerry, I have always been told I am old before my time and traditionally always got on with people one generation above.

2/5 from me: over 40 (by some margin), and wear glasses (which I have done since age 14).
But I don't wear a sportsjacket with leather arm patches, nor wear corduroy trousers, a Vyella shirt, or Hush Puppies. I do drive a Rover though!

2/5 for me. With regard to "Fluxed's" post. Having attended a couple of recent shows (having had a gut full of the "Heathrow" shows in the 90s and been thoroughly disillusioned) I thought I would give them a try as they were fairly local. Forget about the attendees lack of dress sense or bodily hygiene, sadly the "Dems" had not moved on in the 20 or so years since I last attended one. Either average or poor sound (IMO of course) and price tags to make your pie curl. I know that hotel rooms are less than ideal, but these were Biiiig rooms (some) and it all sounded very average.
