Hello all! I came across this forum almost by accident, when I was looking for user reviews of the Benchmark AHB2 amplifier. The discussions were interesting, and so here I am.
I freely confess to being merely a dabbler in hifi audio. My interest was sparked fairly late, about 16 years ago. I currently own a modest system that I am very happy with. My music is stored in a WD Live disk and transferred over Ethernet to a Sonos Connect. The Sonos sends the digital stream over an optical cable to a Benchmark DAC2L. The DAC2L outputs are connected to two Class D amplifiers that were assembled from Icepower modules. The amplifier outputs go to a pair of Magnepan MMG speakers. I also have a sub that a classmate assembled for me some years ago, built around an amplifier from Parts Express.
So it's a bits and pieces system, but I enjoy my music - typically at very low listening levels.
