Hi, Do have a particular gig or concert that stands out among the rest? Was it a particular band at a festival, a classical concert at The Royal Albert Hall or a nice cosy intimate gig at your local? Let us know your favourites!

Last night we went to a 1960,s night at the Village Hall, The Band played fantastic music from the 60,s all night at the youngest member was 72yrs old. No stop for 7.00PM to 11.15PM, and we won for the first time a raffle, the whole thing was in AID for cancer relief for kids.

I been to many concerts so narrowing down to just a few is hard I guess my favourite concerts reflect how my musical taste have developed over the years Here are a few Diamond Head Woolwich Odeon 1980 This was the night after the riots Only about 50 people turned up but the band really went for it. Memories from the Marquee in Wardour Street include Y&T on the hottest night of the year The microphone actually stuck to the stage Randy California plying during Christmas some attractive woman got onstage and we all found out that Randy had other meanings Hanoi Rocks What a bunch of energy ZZ Topp as the little old band from Texus The Marquee in Charing Cross Dream Theater (both nights) I think on the live at the marquee album you can here me shout in the background Van Halen with Dave Lee Roth Larry Carlton at the Royal Festival Hall completely burning Stanley Jordan away Shawn Lane with Jonas Hellborg Al DiMeola at the Jazz Cafe Tommy Tedessco at Pizza express Zero Hour at Headway in Amsterdam both times they played in Holland Surinder Sandhu at the Pizza express Dream Theater at the Forum Stevie Salas think it was the Garage and the Underworld Berli Lagrene Royal Festival Hall

That's some list John. I'd have to say my top few are Rush at the Sheffield Arena Fave band of mine. Dream Theater at Rock city, superb musicians great energy. Porcupine Tree also at Rock City on the small stage, so close you could reach out and touch them! Helloween at The Royal Concert Hall, first ever gig and a great time. Iron Maiden at Twickenham on the 'Somewhere Back in Time' tour. Went to this gig with two friends who i've known since we were kids, a wonderful opportunity to listen to Maidens best stuff (imo) from the 80's.

Best not mention Sabbath at the hammy Odeon on one hot May evening in 1980' tickets £5 tee shirt £6 LOL bunked off school with some mates traveled to smoke in style:- A beat up old 1968 transit delivery van in tasteful post office red! the joy of youth The single most effect a gig has had on myself, was down to my elder sister who was seeing her new boyfriend in Bristol at the time, he suggested a Deep Purple gig @ Colston Hall though she was down for babysitting duties, anyhow helluva an experience for a six year old in 1970 One of the most profound concerts was SRV in Austin Texas 1989 I was working out there at the time, simply one of the best musicians to captivate a crowd spellbinding. Lucky enough to capture him at his prime and before he was tragically killed in the copter crash a year later. At one point in my youth attending around 40+ gigs a years, now around 20 max.

Michael Schenker Group - Manchester Apollo 1982. One of the first big gigs I went to and one of the best.
Spin forward 30 years - I actually went to see his 'Temple of Rock' tour last year at the Shepherd's Bush Empire and it was great fun - all the old MSG / Scorpions / UFO tunes ... And great to see Michael looking so well after all his health issues in recent years.

Like John, making a list is a very, very tough thing as live music is a big thing for me - major highlights though would be;
Pink Floyd performing Dark Side of the Moon at Knebworth in 75 Roger Waters 'The Wall' at the O2 Ryan Adams at The Royal Albert Hall a few years back, masterful musicianship Rosanne Cash at The Barbican this year - bloody marvellous Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Wembley Empire Pool 74. The pinnacle of their musical achievement in my opinion. Emerson Lake & Palmer - Wembley Empire Pool 74 Yes - Reading Festival 1975. First time I saw lasers and it poured with rain, which made them even more visually spectacular. The Berlin Philharmonic at The Barbican with Simon Rattle. Never seen so many musical stars on stage at one time - what an orchestra. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Next Tour, totally unmatched and an extraordinarily unique concert experience. Mary Gauthier - Maverick Festival 2014. Outstanding solo performance, this lady is the real deal - a female Tom Waits. Porcupine Tree - Hammersmith Apollo 2009. Pure class from the musical genius Steven Wilson Bob Dylan in Bournemouth Joe Bonamassa in a small club in Poole with 60 people, the year before he hit the big time Jimmy LaFave at the 100 Club in London Laura Marling solo at Shepherds Bush Empire. Stark, brave and totally spellbinding. Roberto Fonseca in Salisbury. Latin jazz piano, what a talent. Gretchen Peters at Bush Hall London. The Civil Wars - Union Chapel, 2011 the peak of their very short lived career. Adele was sat 3 seats away from me! The Who - Granby Halls, 1975 The Rolling Stones - Madison Square Garden, New York - 2003 (this was a huge hoot in a private box for the New York Post) U2 in Cardiff - 2005 David Gilmour at the Albert Hall with David Bowie - 2006 Leonard Cohen - every single time he's good, each show is pure class and he never disappoints. Jackson Browne at the Albert Hall - 2009 Zac Brown Band - Shepherds Bush Empire, 2013 Holly Williams at The Borderline 2013.
Its getting too tough now, there's far too many to mention. Other great shows Eric Bibb, Robert Plant, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Walter Trout, Beth Hart . . . I'm going to stop now as I could be here all night and send you all to sleep! One of the most moving live moments was Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa at Hampton Court Palace. She sat on the edge of the stage a few feet from me and gave the most moving single song performance I can think of, when she sang I'd Rather Go Blind. Beth had tears running down her cheeks by the end as did pretty much everyone in the audience around me, never seen anything like it in all my years of gigging - a magical moment and blues at its very, very best. It's on YouTube, but it really doesn't capture the moment, but gives an idea - I guess you had to be there really. Joe on his strat was superb, but Beth stole the show.

I saw Beth before she broke big . . . Me too, saw her at The Brook in Southampton some years ago, doubt she will ever play there again! She's a little different now eh? . . . not so rock n' roll, but still an amazing talent and one of a kind. When I first saw Joe he was over weight, had long hair and wore grubby jeans and a T-Shirt, makes me smile when I see him now in shiny suits and $500 shoes It was clear though he had a prodigous talent and its great to see that recognised. He's got a new album soon, not released here till Sept I think?

Last concert was The Ukele Orchestra of Great Britain in the Queens Hall,Edinburgh and it was outstanding. I really liked the mix of humour and music.
I think it can be a bit easy to be overly serious with music,so if you agree,I highly recommend going to see them.
Well worth digging out their version of The Good,the bad and the ugly on you tube.

Gosh, far too many good ones to remember them all:
Rick Wakeman - King Arthur at Wembley Arena Black Sabbath at the Lewisham Odeon around 1974 (the loudest gig ever for me) Pink Floyd at Knebworth 1975 and at Wembley Stadium Uriah Heep at the Wembley Arena Hawkwind and Supertramp at my university Genesis - Six of the Best at the Milton Keynes Bowl (their only full reunion) Debbie Harry at the Town & Country Club Texas at the Town & Country Club before they broke big Yes on several occasions Roger Waters at Earls Court and again at the O2 Steve Winwood at the Albert Hall Eric Clapton with Phil Collins as his drummer Norah Jones at the Festival Hall, quite superb Bryan Ferry at the Albert Hall
The great Eugen Jochum with the Vienna PO at the Albert Hall Klaus Tennstedt shortly before he died Simon Rattle with the CBSO performing Mahler's 2nd Radu Lupu performing Grieg's Piano Concerto (possibly the pinnacle of my concert going experience) Jessye Norman, the most awesome soprano ever Nicola Benedetti performing the Bruch Philip Glass at the inaugural concert of his 2nd violin concerto Simon Rattle with the Berlin PO The Durufle Requiem, so powerful I was choked by the end
I'm sure I'll remember more.
