Have you found they both improve the sound ?
Any old weight on top or a sorbothane type item best ?

Can't say it's that specific, Mike. The coasters definitely help and I used to use what I had lying around. The habit stuck and I pay great heed to vibration control.
I have now put both LPSUs on some Black Ravioli platforms that I hadn't come across before. They fit nicely.

With about 84 hours on it, the ER is still yielding improvements. More space, giving greater contrast with the foreground, and an ease in delivery with lower harshness levels. There is nothing negative about this $640 system upgrade, it's all upside and remarkably inexpensive compared with a component upgrade.

Martin
I read your progress report on Audiophile Style forum.
I agree with the other poster regarding the Acoustic Revive LAN Isolator.
I returned the one I had been evaluating, to Tony, this morning!

Perhaps you are pleased enough to just leave it as is now.

Just a quick catch-up: the EtherREGEN has had over 100 hours of burn-in (some owners are claiming it needs 250 to reach its final performance). I now have everything optimised but am awaiting a longer DC cable from MCRU (I failed by misjudging the length I needed) for the ER and a Teflon coated DC cable for the router. Then, that's pretty much it and double reclocking is a resounding success.
Once again: everything matters in digital.

Those amps should be on a Doctor Who set.

Just the new DC cable to go now, and I'm all set for a period of long stability. The reinvestment worked, ditching the turntable and SACD player to raise funds for the streaming upgrades worked. Having just upgraded Volumio to Superstar and got the latest version working with Artists and Credits has pleased me tremendously. There are no records or CDs to purchase any more. I'll go back to minor tweaking for now. I'm all set

I don't think you're quite following the history of my system, or you're 'misremembering'. The basic components of the system have remained stable since I bought the LKS DAC very early last year. Before that, it was stable for a long time. Since then, I have mostly tweaked and optimised, adding things that I do not consider to be major items to improve the sound, always reinvesting from the proceeds of selling old kit, sometimes removing a component like the preamp. Reclockers and such improve the performance of the system (the sound signature of which is largely determined by the DAC). What's wrong with that?

Absolutely nothing!
You've misunderstood - not a criticism in the least, just pulling your leg about not making any more changes ... simple as that really.

We need to establish what is a tweak and what is an upgrade !

I already have! Seriously, I'll go on writing about the things I do with my system but the last major system change I consider to be my DAC. The rest are system improvements aimed at increasing the performance of the components I already have.
