The 2nd JS-2 power supply arrived earlier. After finishing gutter clearing (yuk), I have swapped the SR Orange fuse in and applied the graphene treatment to all contacts, including the Sapphire star-quad DC cable. It has gone in place of my last remaining Zero Zone PSU, supplying 12V to my 1st AfterDark clock. After checking everything, I powered it up, rebooted the ER and Rendu and all is working fine.
It's not even warm yet, so a bit early to report on what I hear. I'll be listening a lot today so will let it settle a bit before assessing the sound.
I have to say my two JS-2s look damned fine in their places. Wonderful build quality, reassuringly heavy and very smart in appearance.

Everything sounds different. Lowered noise floor. Incredible detail and delineation in the treble. Longer note decay. Striking transient dynamics. Zero harshness and very low sibilance. Really, really hard to believe this is streaming. Requires a shift in understanding. CD and LP are so very far away now. MikeMusic yes, a weight has been on the router for a while now. |
