Have you tried connecting to a charger and then forcing a restart? Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button for about 10 seconds until the SAMSUNG logo displays. That, apparently, is a recognised fix.

That, apparently, is a recognised fix. I found that information later, Paul. I'm going to try it tonight (it's not with me at work). Thanks! I'm staying hopeful...

I've done the forced restart 5 times. It goes through it all until it initiates the sign-in page, then the dreaded 'Connect charger' message appears and it conks out 15s later. Since I will have probably lost the entire contents (but I have Google Backup), I'll see if it's possible to do a hard reset.
Otherwise, it's off for repair it goes.

What I like about the Samsung S7 FE is not just the terrific screen size, it's the speed. It even leaves my Surface 7 i7 for dead in sheer Office 365 task switching. For music control and browsing, it's superb.
Using my old neocore is some kind of punishment by comparison. Ah well, it'll make me appreciate the Samsung even more on its return.

After fooling around with (far too many) cheap tablets that either performed poorly or failed completely, I bit the bullet and ponied up for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.
A bit pricey but stunning graphics and speed proved worth it in my use case.

Nice top of the range model. I just didn't need the gaming graphics

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is a bit over the top and I only have it because of an insane trade in deal that was briefly promoted by Samsung.
My previous tablet was a very capable Galaxy Tab S6 which I greatly enjoyed and would recommend most highly.
Samsung's trade in promotion offered $500 off a new Tab S7+ for the S6 so I leapt on it. Pay >$900 for a tablet? AYFKM?

Well, I paid £484 for the S7 FE and that was a stretch to go for the 14" screen. Very glad I did.

Something was not quite right with the system, niggling me since I switched the power supplies around. I kept checking and rechecking what I had done and tonight I had that light-bulb-over-head moment.
EtherREGEN owners take note: you MUST NOT share a power supply between the power in (dirty side) and external clock (clean side) of the ER. Because of common grounds, it effectively shorts the isolation moat. I had setup the Coherent QP-1 dual-output PSU feeding both the ER and its AfterDark clock. That's a no-no. I can't really describe the effect, but it sounded wrong to me - slightly dirty.
So I swapped one of the Coherent outputs to run the router and powered the AfterDark clock from the Weiliang. Playing the same track I had been playing before (Satisfaction by Van Morrison), it sounded 'correct' and all was well again.
The Weiliang is my least good PSU so I intend to order another Zero Zone, the same as for my 2nd clock.

It's very hard listening and identifying an uplift in sound mixed in with something not being quite right. Now that it's fixed, the whole performance sounds cleaner and more obviously pleasing.

Things I've learned in recent times... Only ever make one change at a time, making stepping back easier. Oh shite. I think I broke a rule...

Now that I've fixed the ER moat shorting issue, I've reverted to the BlueOptics SFPs. The extra detail is back, but with no harshness.
I had another idea tonight. The SFP at the Rendu is grounded directly by alligator clip to the grounding box, to get grounding close to where the signal goes into the Rendu.
At the EtherREGEN end, I'm using the provided chassis earthing tag. I decided to use another alligator clip and ground the SFP directly, in the same way as with the Rendu.
As with messing with any grounding, I need to leave it to settle until tomorrow. However, I heard an immediate small improvement just now.

There are just a few barriers to those...
1) the price 2) the height and probable weight (the Be-20s are 160kg each and I can only just 'walk' them on two corners) 3) no UK importer any more 4) diamond rather than beryllium tweeters

I've heard the Benchmark amps and I don't think they could hold a candle to the Belles.
In any case, I'm not looking to upgrade either the speakers or amp. They are seriously doing the business in my system.
