Is there a way to find threads I have started?
All I can find is "activity" which is every post chronologically
I was going to post something about my TT modifications, but was fairly sure I already had, so wanted to only add new stuff to an existing thread

And then, almost immediately afterwards, discovered "Participated" which doesnt quite do the same thing, but near enough as makes no difference

Sorry I missed this, I've been travelling all day. Have you found what you need Richard?

Yes, Activity and Participated should do the job for you.

Good, glad you found it. Now then, are you going to tell us about this record player of yours? Maybe you just need to tell us you've already told us about it? I can't remember, so maybe you should just tell us anyway!

I can't remember, so maybe you should just tell us anyway! I hope so. I am waiting for UPS to bring it. It's been a bit of a saga. And we have fallen out big time with UPS here over their failure to deliver the fancy dress Sue ordered for attending a Moroccan themed fancy dress in the village. But its due today. If it arrives in one piece, I'll be posting In the meantime, here's a photo of the last time I saw it in the flesh

Great, I'm looking forward to it. Trying to think what I would wear at a Moroccan themed fancy dress. I don't expect a stripey dressing gown would cut it nowadays!

Well It was a PT Andre. And I guess it still is. But now very very different. It is still a work in progress - we have changed the motor again, the vector and pulleys are about 3mm too low, I want to change the transit lock and rear suspension adjuster, it needs a "finished" top-plate, and there are a couple of refinements to sort out. I think we are good with the motor position now, but... But it is stonking. 2 impressions stand out 1) Mrs Pinkie - hearing it for the first time, and asking me why I was using the sub-woofer when we agreed the 2 channel was better without it. Much more so than with Anni this punches bass like an SL1200 and very much UNLIKE a PT. But retains that airy detail and "nothingness" - the "speakerless speakers" Sovereign referred to when he heard the standard version 2) Rock solid stability. A long time ago, in a Universe far far away, during the platter wars on another forum, I listened to far more Frankie Goes to Hollywood (Ferry across the Mersey) than any Englishman outside an institution should ever be made to listen to. Listening for "weeble" Arthur picked it because of the way the vocals sit with precision in front of you. I listened for bloody ages trying to detect a wobble on the Funk 1 and Funk 2 Technics platters . It sort of makes you acutely aware of the whole "fixing" stability. And it is just dominating my impressions of this set up at the moment The arm and cartridge are obviously part of it - and I am not buggering about touring the country doing A:B's with possible rivals, but this is the best record player I have used - ever. I just hope I can resist the temptation to ice the cake (Mrs Pinkie will be a tough nut to crack) since listening at the factory during development to FX3, and worse, AK47. I'll try to be good. I'm supposed to be stopping this upgrade nonsense and just settle back to enjoy the music But it was very strange having Cleo Laine in the living room yesterday.
