Over here we have croissants, or Fa, or various tarts (fruity ones) I miss crumpets and marmite - at least I will in the winter. Marmite is available in the local supermarket in the "International" shelves (no chance for crumpet though, nor proper bacon). It is however very hard to persuade a Frenchman that you are serious about eating the stuff for pleasure. It is normally a French exchange visit challenge to eat some toast and marmite, along the lines of eating live bugs in an "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" They have much to learn

I found the same thing in the USA, it quickly separates the Brits from the imposters!
It's the same with christmas pudding, possibly an even more violent reaction much to my mirth.

I'll vote for Marmite too, good and thick. Ooo no, I find Marmite far too much if it is thick, has to be a smidge with lots of butter when I have it on toast. After spreading the Marmite put it under the grill for about 3 minutes. Superb -well Natex is and it is very similar to Marmite - just better
