Anyone had any experience bonding Acrylic sheet to MDF Sheet? Contact adhesive is the obvious but i feel it's too thick to play with. The Acrylic to MDF must be laminated together perfectly, i cant afford for glue to be too thick if you know what i mean. I don't have a press or anything that weighs as much as a mountain side to apply pressure while drying, only say under a dinner table leg or summert

I would be looking for something to use to spread the weight across the whole thing. Bear in mind that, with glue, less is more. Or it is for me anyway.....the messiest person on the planet when it comes to sloppy stuff.

How about another piece of MDF the same size with loads of bricks or other dense substance forming a weighty sandwich. Even sit on it if you are a weighty person. Be inventive

Be inventive Thanks Alan ive sorted out the weight while it dries. A cube full of 12" singles weighs a ton, another cube full ontop of that. Providing the Chosen glue aint thick should be no probs, this is what puts me off Contact adhesive.

Yeah, that'll do it! But I'd be worried about aligning it wrongly and not being able to separae the two tidily to reposition them Seal the MDF with watered down PVA.

Yep Unibond No worries chris it a larger piece, no need to be precise, Router Profile trimmer works with the machining already carried out on the MDF. Most important tools in my Box those profilers. I have em with bearing guide on top & on bottom..

Yes I would defo seal the porus MDF. PVA is good or you can buy specific sealents. It depends on what adhesive you plan to use.

Hi Mate
Unibonded it tonight, has a nice soft sealed surface to work with..
Ive ordered some of that 3M Double sided Sheet which will be perfectly fine, in fact it would be better than Glue in a few ways.
