Well done Froomie, it's a pleasant change to see a bit of humility in multiple tour winners, not mentioning any names

John It has to be team orders for the 'best' guy to win. It was unheard of then for any Brit to stand a chance, let alone 2 - in the same team. I thought the closest we'd ever get was English speaking in my lifetime.
Mr. Sovreign
You forget Stephen Roche and whatsisname when Roche won. There must be others I have forgotten, and certainly those who didn't win that we forgot about Indurain supported Delgado at least one year when he could have at least challenged.

yes a great win by Froome The TV coverage and commentary where very good this year, I enjoyed watching the highlights on ITV4. Looking forward to the Olympics and seeing if England gets a few golds for cycling.

I get the team orders What I do not get is why Froome is not rated as highly as Wiggins in the Cycling community he has won 3 tours would of won 4 if it was not for Team orders. I get Wiggins has the gold medals and has won other events but still Froome imo should be held in the same regard

I rate Froome different to Wiggins.
In terms of Grand Tours Froome is well ahead.
In terms of success in cycling, as it currently stands Wiggins is well ahead

Yes that be my thoughts but think they kind of equal themselves out as both great achievements

If you compare Chris Hoy to either he comes ahead on total amount of wins and the amount of time he competed. He is a stunning muscle machine to go short distances faster than anyone else.
Froome has a wide array of skills taking in time trialling, mountain climbing as well as being good at road work and even sprinting. Hell of a spread. It is likely he is the best grand tour rider of this generation
Wiggins has a wide spread with an overlap to both. I'm not sure we ever saw the full extent of his abilities due to attitude which I can't quite work out. To be able to race on the track and the road is some feat. Gaining and losing kilos to swap between the two is not something I would like to do
Geraint Thomas may be the closest comparison to Wiggins with the track / road mix
