Picked one of these up today for £30. Knew it would need a bit TLC so here I am.
Single transformer in this one and plenty free stoor inside.
Sounds great...on the left channel. Right is screechy and lacking volume.
Now....Id like to try and fix this myself coz I'm skint but I think you're all aware of my DIY prowess! However here's some pics so if it's an easy fix I shall plod away.

Is it safe to use a vacuum with a brush head or can static cause problems ?

It looks like a circuit mod as the track has been cut. It's a horrible job, whoever did it.

Is it safe to use a vacuum with a brush head or can static cause problems ? I doubt it for an amplifier. No sensitive CMOS components in there except possibly the display electronics. |

Unbelievable. The pic in no2 was just a bit something stuck to the underside of the circuit board. Cleaned that off. Checked the internal fuses(as I've always read on here to look them over) - ones away. Off to Maplin,10 for £2.29 so changed out the four in the amp and BINGO!
It's working great! Got a bit Jean Michelle Jarre on and that's deep and atmospheric,the Stones Dead Flowers is crisp and there's good separation,Chris Farlowes voice is also nice and powerful. This is it hooked up to the ANKs and istuff - nice combo.
I'm delighted!
Better put the lid back on it now and tidy up.
