It occurred to me that it's not easy referencing an earlier post in a thread or in a different thread as the posts are not numbered. If you try and reference by time this forum has the feature of putting the time as n hours or minutes ago until it gets to a certain age when it reverts to date and time. This is not usable for referencing because it floats.
post numbers are good, as witnessed on diyaudio where they are used by many, all the time. Or always using date and time would be useable.
It's not always practical to use the quote mechanism and even that is tricky to use because it's difficult to remove quotes within quotes when they are superfluous.
just a thought, although I'm not sure others would be as interested.

Ok, I have now placed the previously hidden Link to Post button against each post. You can now copy either a Post-in-Thread or just a Post for use elsewhere. Enjoy
