Hi all,
I have bought some Exposure speaker cable from a chap on the PFM forum which is unterminated. I'd like to fit Banana plugs and am a little nervous of doing it myself, so was planning on getting them done by a hifi shop of some sort.
I am loathed to give my money to our local Audio T as the guy who runs it is an arse, so just wonder if anyone knows where I could get it done in my local area? (Berkshire including Thames Valley, Hampshire etc)
There is a Richer Sounds in Reading that I could go to but would prefer a proper hifi shop per se if possible.
Your recommendations would be much appreciated.
Paul.

Speedysteve would have been good as he lived down the road from me - but he moved !
Anyone good with a good soldering iron (not me !)
Z plugs recommended

For speaker cables, a good soldering iron is not enough. It must be man enough for the job as the thick cable conducts the heat away preventing the joint from getting hot enough and you just end up melting everything and making a mess.

Wouldn't a simple "can anyone help me out with the soldering?" have done? All of the above is unnecessary, and some it possibly actionable.

Whatever, I'm allowed my opinion and didn't mention the specific Audio T!

Oh and anyhow I have it arranged with someone now. Admins, please close this thread now as I can't be bothered to get into a massive debate about what I did and didn't say.

All of the above is unnecessary, and some it possibly actionable. I doubt it, Paul is simply expressing an opinion, there is no libel there. My experience of Audio T in Reading was positive, so too of Richer Sounds. YMMV.

No need, Chris. I might have said the same things as Paul but about different dealers. It's right and proper that we share our experiences of dealers as they vary so much in quality. In fact, I have shared my contempt for Graham's Hi-Fi on a number of occasions in the past.
