Finally, some warm weather!
We put some chicken thighs and tofu chunks in a tandoori marinade on Monday, ready for cooking this evening. With the beautiful weather, we realised tonight we had a perfect chance to give the barbecue its first outing of the year - and the food was ready to go! It's something we do a lot of when the weather permits - last year we had a couple of weeks when we cooked every evening meal outside.
Having attended a LOT of barbecues in Zambia as a kid, I still think of it as a braai, which is the term used for them in Central and Southern Africa. I often forget that it's a rather unusual word in the UK and wonder why people look at me strangely when I use it.
We've learnt to make the most of the coals, and so while we're eating, we usually put some other food on to cook for subsequent meals. Which means that for breakfast on Sunday we'll have some charcoal grilled sausages to warm up to go with the scrambled eggs. Yum.

Think I'll do likewise this weekend, haven't used the barbie since last year.
