Most footballers take several minutes of agonised rolling around to recover from a bruised hairstyle.

This time I haven't watched any of it. Just too low down the priority list and likely to wind me up in some way.
Many years ago I saw World Cup football as the pinnacle, not any more
The cycling / football thing made me burst out laughing

No brainer this one.
I ride DH/and XC and regularly pick up cracking sore ones! Very, very good riding in my neck of the woods - Innerleithen for DH uplift days or xc up onto the Southern Upland Way,Glentress(bit busy at times) Pentlands hills etc etc.
Footballers are all pretty boys who wimper whenever they break a nail, except Big Duncan Ferguson who's rock. Stupid, stupid boys that broke into his house and got caught by him....

Yes but cycling is still pretty tainted from it past No sport perfect as long you enjoy it is the main thing

Disagree there mate - only one side of cycling got tarnished. The British mountain bike scene is outstanding just now we are really producing some exceptional talent with people like Steve Peat,The Athertons and Danny Hart all right at the top of the tree just now. Guys like Danny MacAskill have also inspired huge amounts of kids to get out on their bikes and there's also now a sporting college for riders. Cavendish and Wiggins do awrite and inspire loads of folk to ride as well.

Inspiration can be found everywhere and great to see it happening in cycling

Do they test for drugs in football ?
I remember a couple of years back a random drug test in MotoGP. Think it was the very first and I've never heard of it since. Some sports don't even test and I bet they could find dirt

cyclists get paid several millions for riding a bike , high as a kite .
uk football as a significant number of drugs test and is favourably comparable if not better than any sport on the planet .

Not possible for pro cyclists to take drugs anymore There's a big thin about Tramadol currently with some teams voluntarily banning it
A very small handful earn low millions and not for very long
I've never heard of any footballer being done for anything other than recreational drugs

They interviewed the head of drug testing for the Olympics and he made the brilliant irrefutable point . Before we can test for cheating , the form of cheating must be known and it is a fact , the cheat is invented first , the test after . I give you EPO .
Kolo was banned for taking water tablets to control his weight given to him by his wife. They had a banned substance in them .

Footballers are tested all the time. There have been a few notable cases - Rio Ferdinand served a long ban for missing a doping test. He was told when he arrived at training the he was required to give doping samples, and he "forgot" about it and left the training complex without being tested.
Kolo Touré served a lengthy ban for taking his wife's weight loss pills. The pills contained Amphetamine.

Well at least they must have worked , amphetamines weight loss properties are beyond doubt
