My Tivo predates Virgin ! No subs. These guys do the support www.altepg.com/Good little box and very clever software. One step at a time. I've already updated the Freeview to HD, then the telly. See where we go from there |

I find that watching a really good film on HD, especially bluray, ups my enjoyment quite a bit ...
Picture and sound quality wise.
On my Freeview box there's a big difference between HD and SD, so that should be worthwhile for you.

I'll be able to test sooner or later by watching HD live and recording into the Tivo which knocks it back to whatever it does normally.
As I'm learning about my Freeview HD box I wonder if I can pause it, then skip ads....

The HD box won't connect to t'internet through the socket next to it. Ah technology
Long cable found, connect direct to the router in the next room.
Success !
I have YouTube - a gallery of music vids to play that I can scroll through
Will find out more next time

I only watch in HD these days, some TV dramas like Game of Thrones really demand it.

If I find HD so much better I need to work out my next move/s.
Not everything I watch is in HD anyway though

Once you go HD there is no way back Mike  ... I recently purchased my first Blu-Ray and the difference between it and DVD is out of this world, especially on my 4K TV |

Once upon a time I didn't have a telly. Didn't want one
Then my mother, brother and other half pushed me into taking my mother's upgraded box.
I'm more critical of programmes these days as there is so much choice.
Good ones are not common. Excellent ones are very rare. Same with films for me
And, yes I confess I might well be tempted by HD and 4K. Has to fight against all that music though....
