Hi Good to join you all and share the passion. Name's Nigel also known as Barnboy on other forums etc HiFi goals; - To get a music room of my own.
- Waiting to move to France and convert a 'grange' and fill it with large JBL's
 - Getting the most out of what I have
- Try to get into new music genres
- Get my other half to understand why this hobby is so important to me and why cables like ships hawsers are a good thing!
Most listening done in my office at home streaming or Analogue (Tape/FM) using a WAD EL84 and LS3 5a's as a desktop system Vinyl system is downstairs and still being developed/tuned
Current hifi status 'fairly happy'
Looking forward to contributing thoughts and experience to peoples posts and avoiding hi-fi politics

A music room is wonderful .So glad to say I have one.
Most of my listening is also done in my office. Big change May 1st.
I'm very happy with my system and the music it produces. I'll take more

No I have a friend who ran a recording studio and does brilliant work on my guitars who is going to help with finding the JBLs (and store them until we move)Its two years off so I will have to be content with PMCs which is the only constant in the vinyl system over the last 10 years
Very keen on a JBL Macintosh setup as I think the synergy is good. He thinks Phase Linear 700s are the way to go (but he would wouldn't he!)

Tape you say? What are you playing them on? I have an Aiwa AD F770 cassette machine (desk) Sony Walkman Pro (needs the speed adjuster sorted) and a Beocord 2000 deluxe r2r |

Hello to you too Sir! I'd bet that WAD EL84\LS setup sounds nice.
For new music genres have a listen to BT Ima or AwolNation MegaLithic Symphony Electronic dance music that you'll probably hate but you never know!! La Femmes Hypsoline is good as well.
