Orange alert. Orange alert. Was going to say "Eh?" - but a few neurons managed to fire just now. I'm always reminded of the Tommy Cooper joke with him having a pair of feet either side of his neck every time I ever say it. For the past 18 months I've been forced to wear safety footwear - despite there being no real hazard in the working environment. Had four pairs trying to find a pair I can actually wear. The last pair bought I can wear, but they're far from comfortable. If it was just that simple it would be less of a problem. However, more than 25 years ago I had discs out of my back and have arthritis in my knees and what I wear on my feet impacts greatly on my general mobility and walking. Trainers with good cushioning are all I can wear really, but I'm not allowed to. As you were.

I had an inkling that safety trainers were available somewhere ?
Don't know if they would be more comfortable though.

Don't know if they would be more comfortable though. There is quite a wide choice of safety trainers I have to wear a pair myself sometimes. If you don't want to go via eBay Amazon sell them too.

CAT do good safety trainers for about £40. For boots I'd go for Forma. Wenaas do a double gel insole as well which are pretty good.
On the rig I'm on my feet 12 hrs a day and in all sorts of situations/conditions. The Forma boots,so far, have been the best. I've got two pairs at home as well. Good socks are worth buying as well.

Well, thanks for the information.
Yes. There's quite a selection of safety trainers on eBay. On my third pair but like I say they're far from comfortable with the arthritis and spine condition. Boots aren't really an option as they are just too heavy. Will investigate insoles.
Thanks.
