Following on from my recent purchase I've been using a set of interconnects for this. However I'd like something a bit better. Now,you all know my feelings on my super duper speaker cable(I think I might have mentioned it ) but I'm wondering if that same cable could be used for the required jumpers? If so is it merely a case of soldering the ic ends onto the wire? Is it a tricky job? What are my other options? Is there a "right" thing for this? As always - all answers appreciated.

I may be wrong and hopefully someone will correct me if so:
First thing, Chris is that I don't think you actually need the negative connection on these jumpers, just the centre pin as I believe that's how they were supplied with the amp originally. If so, then that makes your soldering job easier and best of all, you'll save about 3 inches of valuable cable!! If I'm correct, then I see no reason why your speaker cable wire won't work. Maybe best to Google up a few images of the rear of the amp with the jumpers in place to check whether my memory is correct though.

FEIW I think Chris B is right. I'm sure the original jumpers would have been solid metal jumper bars.

I'd still use plugs, as they're easier to attach and remove them from the sockets without straining the solder joints, just don't connect anything to wire except the centre pins.

Oky doky. Thanks for that.
Might even have a crack at that myself when I get home. Few wee bits of cable lying about that can be used.
Cheers!

A bit of suitable coat-hanger wire should do it if the thickness is correct to match a phono plug pin, The most it will do I think, is add a tiny fraction of an ohm resistance and at the matching impedances were talking of here, I doubt it would make any sonic difference whatsoever over a couple of inches tops...
If the above isn't appropriate, the sockets look to be a proprietary type and pre-formed links from other manufacturers should perfectly fit if it's any help.

Thanks for that dsjr but no way could I do that! I'm not overly ocd but that wouldn't sit well with me at all! It's also a great wee DIY job and I need all the practice I can get!
I edited that as I called you djsr. Not ocd at all!

Yes, four decent phono plugs and a short length of cable are all you need. Centre core only, the ground is common so not needed at all.

Yes, the RCA plug is supposed to have a centre pin diameter of 1/8 inch, which is just a gnat's nadger over 3mm, I think.
