Surely the interconnects would drag or topple the components or strain the phono sockets due to their weight and leverage?

Easy enough to make your own version - take a pair of tights, thread the cable through, then stuff them with old socks.
Probably sound as good too....

The interconnects are ludicrous. If you felt the need to design cables like that, you need to go back to the drawing board.

I saw those cables ages ago, late sixties/early seventies I think. They were chasing Doctor Who round a chalk quarry in Surrey.
