That's interesting. I do like it a lot but I prefer A Trick of the Tail from that period.

Both Wind and Wuthering and Trick of the Tail for me.
Just as good for me Seconds Out and The Lamb
Steve Hackett was an essential part of Genesis for me, Peter Gabriel a lot less

Agree the Hackett material after Gabriel's departure is a peak only equaled by Selling England By The Pound. Lamb is good in parts but the whole concept is rather confusing and the album too lengthy. There is still some good material by the later 'commercial' band if viewed with an open mind. Rather liked Hackett's 'Genesis Revisited' and his most recent album. Must investigate his earlier solo work.

Rather liked Hackett's 'Genesis Revisited' and his most recent album. Must investigate his earlier solo work. Start with Spectral Mornings. Just superb
then Please don't touch Voyage of the acolyte Guitar Noir - for a later one

I went to see Steve Hackett when he was doing the Genesis Revisited II tour, absolutely fabulous , I never got to see Genesis in the Gabriel era so this was a treat. The musicians were note perfect , of course singers can't copy exactly but Nad Sylvian (I think thats how you spell it) was brilliant , he sang Gabriel and Collins as good as the men themselves , he doesn't do all the vocals on the album but was the soul vocalist on tour.
This is the actual concert I was at , The Musical Box not only my favourite Genesis track but my favourite record of all time.

SEBTP is my all-time favourite album of theirs, while Seconds Out is one of the top live albums I know.

Much prefer any Seconds Out versions of earlier tracks. I used to like Gabriel but found I preferred Collins singing. Not so different but different enough

The Collins recordings were far too bright sounding to my ears.

Be interesting to know the lineup
At a guess no Hackett or Gabriel. Thought Collins had health issues too

I have all of the older albums and stopped buying their work at 'And then there were three', which I actually really like a lot. For the last few years or so I have struggled to find much to excite me when I go back to these albums though. However, the year before last, I saw Steve Hackett at the Cropredy festival and it was one of the most enjoyable gigs I've been to in a long time - it was absolutely spellbinding for both myself and Mischa. I think we'd certainly make an effort to see those songs performed live again.
