I've been a big MMA fan for many years. I just wondered if there were any other fans of UFC/MMA on here? Looking forward to tonight's main event and hoping Conor McGregor wins. If he does, I reckon he will go for Robbie Lawler's welterweight belt next. I reckon he has a good chance of holding three belts if he only has to beat Lawler and Dos Anjos. Of course if there are no other fans on here, nobody will have a clue what I'm going on about

Wish I'd got into it years ago.
Conor will brain him quickly.

Yep, what a bummer, it means we miss out on two great title fights to follow. Still, going up two weights and almost finishing Diaz in the first is some achievement.

Bit of a surprise that I have to say. Got a bit too full of himself I think.

I was surprised by the fight he fought, he really was throwing everything in that first round and he looked very tired mid aye through the second. He's a very successful counter-puncher so it looked like an odd strategy, especially against someone with a height and reach advantage. Still, it's easy to be wise after the event, but I do think he beats Diaz most times if he fights the way he usually does.
Although he says he will defend at 145 next, I'm sure he will be back at both 155 and 170 In time. There's talk of Diaz getting a shot at Lawler's welterweight belt. If he does and he wins, I reckon Conor will talk his way into a title shot.

Huge respect to Michael Bisping, the new UFC Middleweight WORLD champion. He's had some narrow losses when on the verge of a title fight and never quite managed to get his chance. He's had his low points over the last 10 years such as the brutal KO's from Hendo and Belfort, not to mention the detached retina.
After his recent win over the legend, Anderson Silva, I thought things couldn't get better for him. Then he gets the call for a title shot with only 2 weeks notice when Chris Weidman is injured. He has to face a guy who beat him easily when he had the benefit of a full training camp. A huge underdog, he goes out there, says it's his destiny to be champ and KO's Luke Rockhold in round 1!
So often the bridesmaid, it was glorious to see such a hard-working Brit get his reward. To me, he's more deserving of that title than anyone else in the game. It was well worth staying up until 5am to witness it. It's an experience I will never forget. Well done Michael: you're an inspiration.
