We're trying out a plug-in that gives TAS collapsed categories, which you can toggle as you like by clicking on the category titles. The suggestion is that it makes for a clean home page for those who prefer it that way.
Please vote so that we know how you feel about it!

A personal opinion (obviously) - Aesthetically there's just something "off" about it. It looks scruffy to me. To be honest, I usually go straight to Recent rather than Home anyway though.

I always use "recent" too but the collapsed categories seem to serve no purpose. If I do go to the homepage, it's nice to see the latest topic without having to click into the individual categories.

Think I like it. I'll give it a day or so

Yes I like it, but as others, my desktop shortcut points to the 'recent items' so I don't usually see it.

Interesting the different ways we do it. I go to the tree started by hovering over The Audio Standard in the breadcrumbs trail top-left, then hover over the expansions and go to anywhere showing NEW.
I wasn't sure about the collapsing Categories at first, but I see no downside.

It is interesting indeed. I thought that us regulars probably mostly use the site via the 'Recent' button or some other way like the one Martin describes, so the change would have little real effect on any of us. This seems to be borne out by what folks are saying. However, the reason I suggested we might try this is because I think a big list can be overwhelming to a newcomer. When we discussed trying it, I didn't have a clue as to whether it might work or not, but now it's installed, I think it's rather good.

Am I the only one who never uses Recent? It would seem so. My 'favourite' / bookmark thingy for TAS takes me to Recent. So there is a Home page is there? - fancy that. I don't like the look of the collapsared TAS home page so voted No. But it's irrelevant to me anyway.

Dislike. But I also tend to use 'Recent', so it won't really affect me.

Voted NO
Find the new look home page rather bland and a bit off-putting (particularly for casual visitors/prospective members)
The 'expanded' view gives a flavour of the range of actual discussions without the faff of expanding each heading in turn - which I personally wouldn't bother with if I was dropping by.

Just a point for those that don't like it - if you open each collapsible bar, it remains open for you, even when you leave the site and come back later. I opened a load of them on my tablet upstairs about an hour ago and when I logged on downstairs just now, they were still open on my laptop.
