Thing is though Chris, I'm still discovering plenty of 40 year old (and older) music that I do click with. Recently I've been playing a lot of Michael Chapman albums and I think they're great. As I said in my first post on this thread, the debut and this album come across as having been heavily influenced by JJ Cale, something I had not noticed previously. I think I prefer Mr Cale though.

I'm listening to this with free Spotify via usb from laptop to DAC the SQ is amazing . Get yourself one of the new vinyl copies and it will be even more amazing. The first two DS albums especially have terrific sound quality and Love over Gold is not too shabby either (but you need quiet vinyl backgrounds.)

8 for me. Not my favourite Dire Straits album, but very good just the same.

Thank you everyone for your votes and your comments. A controversial band and album, for sure, and one which garnered a wide spread of voting. It's great when an album generates such debate. Please move on to listening to this month's Album Choice, your views really are appreciated.
