Picked up a pair of these the other day and I'm delighted! I love the originality of them - the inspection stickers still on them fo example. I've only listened to them hooked up to my valves but I shall report back when I've tried them with a different amp or two. Bet you can't wait.

I'm riveted to the settee, here.
OO! No, Mrs! Mrs don't!
(Frankie H has been on my mind all day.)
Have a pair myself (shagged).

KEF is a brand that seems to have avoided me for most of my life(!) and, therefore, I don't know any of the speakers in this range at all, so I'd be interested to hear how you like them.

The T27 is long lasting and a pretty good tweeter as they go. There are more modern designs which are far worse. Is the bass driver a B200? It should be a pretty good speaker, will need a bit of welly to really get going.

T27 is back in production at Falcon Acoustics. The Chorale has a low treble 'crossover' dip which makes it sound a bit dull, corrected in the Corelli, but nice on orchestral stuff.

I'm just glad to breathe a bit life into them!

I wonder if Falcon can be persuaded to re-imagine the B200 driver. I'm sure they'd sell a few...

Sat down with these for a listen today and I love them. My listening rooms just wee but volume of about 68/72db was being used and they're great. Started off with a bit Gerry Rafferty,Pink Floyd,Elton John and KT Tunstall and they seem to suit the earlier recordings better but do sound good with KT. Bearing in mind dsjrs comments I switched out to some classical(this is all through Spotify) and now they're shining. Wagners full of punch and drama,Can Can is fast and tight,Holsts Mars just sounds right as does Nabucco,Aida and Habanero.
I found myself thoroughly enjoying this session and the above is just a little of what was played. Agreed these aren't for everything these speakers but they like my valves and classical/softer music that's for sure.
Lovely.

What a great outcome, and they look in good condition, too. Well done, Chris!

Thanks Martin. They did have foam on them but it was rotted. I've had a look at pics and can't see where the foam would be but they sound good anyway so I'm gonna leave them be.
